This of course already sounds far too organised for me, to anyone who knows me. Personally I blame Jimmy D. Brown who is either my mentor or my nemesis, I’m not sure which. Some time ago I bought his eBook Homepreneur Habits, on the advice of Lynn Terry (who also has a great deal to answer for). Unfortunately for me and my inner ADD child, Jimmy talks far too much sense altogether and somehow lulled me into accepting that I actually need (ZOMG!) a ROUTINE of some kind.

Jimmy being Jimmy and the king of acronyms, ROUTINE has a deeper and darker meaning when used by him and it’s been nagging away at me ever since I bought it. This week I finally gave in; you’ll discover the full horror behind ROUTINE as we go on, but for now try not to tremble too much as I reveal that the E stands for Evaluate – and that’s what I’ve been doing today.

In fact I went one step further and devised a whole timetable with the help of another product designed to kill me slowly, The Journal as used by Steve Pavlina. If you take the 45 day trial through Steve’s link you get his awesome templates as well, which guide you through unspeakable acts such as Discovering Your Purpose and Crafting an Intention.

*sigh* so not only did I spend an hour or so today putting together a weekly timetable with slots for business, work-outs, decluttering etc., I then went ahead and planned out the tasks for each day next week, starting tomorrow. I know, mea culpa … and nothing good can possibly come of it, can it? Luckily for you, the timetable won’t copy easily into this post so you’re spared that at least.

Being slightly serious for a minute, the evaluation was a very valuable exercise in showing me just how much I’ve achieved this week. I set myself the questions:

What has gone well this week and what progress have I made?

What should I repeat?

What needs tweaking?

What didn’t work and why?

I discovered that in spite of a few days feeling under the weather (which I spent persuading people that “NO, I don’t have swine flu!”), I’d actually got 2 blogs set up (this one and 8 Weeks to Freedom); done keyword research for an affiliate site, bought the domain and installed a blog on it; pulled all my affiliate network logins together into one file (something I’d been meaning to do for ages); sorted out some boots (you have no idea how many pairs of boots I own! Actually I have no idea either, I’m too ashamed to count them); and meditated two mornings running (not while running, you understand).

I also signed up for a staggering SEVEN new membership sites, most of them trial which I can’t possibly check out in the time allowed. If I could work out why I’m so addicted to memberships, I could set up my own and make/save a fortune (now there’s a thought …)

Oh and I tweeted! Several times! And worked out how to create a blog post from my tweets at the end of each day and how to tweet to my Facebook page. Sometimes I really impress myself.
